Tanner Bond

Hey, I'm Tanner.

I'm the founder of RoboCMO and the only employee. Before RoboCMO, I spent my career running B2SMB marketing and growth orgs at a variety of Austin startups. I started RoboCMO to help B2B startups make the most of the rapidly developing AI toolset — most importantly to abandon the old spray and pray tactics of the past 15 years by finding perfect fit targets and sending them tailor made messaging.

What I believe

The highest-value prospecting data isn't sold by traditional data vendors. It lives on the public web — prospects' websites, their corporate filings, government databases, review sites, industry directories. But no one has structured it for most use cases — they've been too niche. I call it “unstructured data,” and the core of everything I build is turning that unstructured data into bespoke datapoints for my clients. They use data tailor made for their purpose. Their competitors use the same old off the rack data. That's my clients' unfair advantage.

A lot of outbound providers focus on volume — building massive email infrastructures so you can blast tens of thousands of contacts per month. That's not what I do. My approach is quality over quantity: do the hard work upfront to find the right companies, reach them at the right time, and say the right thing. When your targeting and messaging are dialed in, you don't need to burn through 30,000 contacts per month to build pipeline. You also don't burn through your sending infrastructure or your brand reputation in the process.

Why RoboCMO

I started RoboCMO to get back to doing the work myself. After years of managing marketing teams, I missed being the one actually building the systems — not reviewing someone else's work, but hands on the keyboard making it happen.

I've deliberately kept it that way. No full-time employees. No contractors. Every client works directly with me, and I do all the work myself. That's a deliberate choice, not a scaling limitation.

Here's what that gives you: there's no knowledge loss between the person on your strategy calls and the person building your Clay workflows. No onboarding a junior associate who's learning on your dime. No game of telephone. The person who understands your business, your ICP, and your competitive landscape is the same person writing the Claygent prompts and optimizing your campaigns. That continuity compounds — every week I spend in your system, I get sharper at finding what works for your specific business.
